Prior to the 1910 Tyler High School yearbook, the yearbook was issued as a supplement in the school newspaper, The Blue and White. From 1910 to 1958, the yearbooks are called the Alcalde. The Alcaldes from 1926 to 1935 include Tyler High School and Tyler Junior College. The first year that Tyler Junior College published their own annual, Apache, was 1936. In 1958, Tyler High School was renamed John Tyler High School. The 1959 yearbook and all years since then kept the name, Alcalde.
