Though the majority of this publication focuses on the various minor league affiliations to which Tyler has laid claim since 1912, it is important to remember that the documented history of baseball in Tyler predates the organization of professional minor league teams by at least 12 years. It is also important to note that the facility which now serves as home to Tyler’s newest minor league entry – the Woldcatters of the Texas-League – was renovated not for the purpose of professional baseball exhibition, but in response to a demonstrated need for an amateur baseball facility for high school and college level playing.
