History of All Saints Episcopal School

Since 1976, the All Saints Episcopal Day School was incorporated in early 1976, initially named St. Andrews Episcopal School. The school opened with 118 students and 11 faculty members, relocating from First Christian Church to Christ Episcopal Church until separate facilities could be secured. In 1982, the 7th grade was added, and Mr. W.W. Wagley donated 20 acres for the current campus. The new building opened for the 1983–1984 school year, with 326 students enrolled.

In 1990, the first Founders’ Day dinner honored Mr. James Wynne, Jr. The Board of Trustees began a planned expansion, adding 9th grade in 1993 and one grade each year thereafter until the Upper School was complete. Genecov Hall was completed in 1995, along with athletic fields and Irwin Hall. The Upper School graduated its first class in 1997, with Mr. Kerry Lee as the first National Merit Scholar. In 2000, the Mewbourne Math Enrichment Program was introduced, and Vaughn Hall was built, housing classrooms and art studios. The first DECATS summer program started, and the Warmack Tennis Center opened with eight courts. All Saints achieved five National Merit Commended Scholars. The Mewbourne Field and Track Complex opened in 2007, and the school received accreditation from the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest in 2008.

By 2010, All Saints joined the National Association of Independent Schools. A capital campaign launched in 2015 improved the Lower School and campus facilities. A new Chapel was consecrated in 2016.

The “Honor Our Past, Imagine Our Future” campaign led to the establishment of Makerspaces and the Center for Innovation. The Outdoor Learning Center and STEM Zone were introduced, along with enhanced campus security.

All Saints also became a charter member of the Cum Laude Society, recognizing exceptional academic achievement while promoting values of honor and justice.
