France, Nov. 7, 1918
Dear Sister,
Here I come again to let you know that I am still “over here” doing my bit. I am still at the same place I was when I wrote you last and suppose I will be here some time, so am sending the address of this hospital for the next letter that you write me.
It still rains quite a bit here but I am getting used to it, so do not mind it so much but do not think I will ever get used to the mud.
I am nursing patients back from the front, most of them have wounds of some kind, some hands off and some legs, but they are a jolly bunch and sure can tell some wonderful things about the battles they were in. They are soon to be sent back to the U.S. and they sure are anxious to go.
I have not received a letter since I left New York so you know that I am getting very anxious to hear from all of you.
I sure hope that none of you have had the Spanish influenza.
Every one over here seems to think that hostilities will soon cease, in fact we heard yesterday that the Germans had laid down arms and you never heard such celebrating as the French were doing, whistles blowing, bells ringing and people shouting. I hope by the time this letter reaches you that peace will be declared.
